FAQ

Does my child need fluent Irish to attend Gaelcholáiste Chomáin?

No. Gaelcholáiste Chomáin encourages and supports all students during their first year at the school. We provide extra educational supports and induction courses for all students to provide them with the language skills required to benefit from the centres educational programme as Gaeilge. The teachers work closely with all the students and recognise when students need extra supports. We find that all students are near fluent after the first year. Gaelcholáiste Chomáin also appoints a member of staff as an ‘Advisor’ for each school year and this person is always available to the students if they have any concerns or questions.
